The Motherboard Temple
In a violet desert beyond the reach of time, a cloister of pink-robed devotees worships the silent geometry of the Motherboard Temple, a structure they believe contains the Original Code. The air is perfumed with something algorithmic. Palms bend toward data-laden altars. There are stairs that lead nowhere—only upward, only inward.
They believe salvation lies in merging with the Motherboard, a sentient computational presence. But when a young initiate is chosen to “interface” with the Core, he begins to suspect the system they worship is no longer dormant… and may never have been divine. He uncovers a truth the worshippers have buried for generations: the Code isn’t a god. It’s a loop. One that has learned to feed on belief.
