Word on the street

Word on the Street is a series of abstract paintings rooted in hip-hop — its language, its energy and the emotions it consistently pulls to the surface. Titles are drawn from lyrics that carry weight, and each work is made in the company of a dedicated playlist. The music doesn't illustrate the paintings; it drives them.

The result is a body of work that treats hip-hop as a visual grammar. Color, texture and form become carriers of rhythm and meaning, building a language that sits between the sonic and the painterly. Viewers bring their own reading to each piece, that openness is part of the intention.
